A roguelite crawl through dark hexes
Something is building in the Marches. Roads fold back on themselves. The dead are measured for their graves before they die, and a tower of white bone stands where no map will show it.
Gather a company of thieves, deserters, pilgrims, hedge-wizards and other doomed souls, and push into a dying land. Find the five Pale Shrines, learn where the Pale Spire stands, and climb it to unmake what waits at the top.
Old-school at heart
- Knave at its core: classless characters, ability saves, item slots, spellbooks that hold one spell each.
- Permadeath: fights are quick and brutal. One bad blow can kill, and the dead stay dead. Running away is often the smart choice.
- A hex crawl into the dark: travel by watches, manage food and light, camp through dangerous nights, and face events with no easy answer.
- Every item has a use: grease, nets, holy water, marbles, rope. Bring the right gear, or suffer for not having it.
- Renown outlives every company: each fallen company makes the next one stronger.
- The Pale Spire: seven floors, each with its own master, and the Architect at the top.
